ATTN junk yard hunters, WTB 79' bowden rod and throttle linkage
I am looking for throttle linkage parts and a bowden rod from a 1979 300d or 300td. If anyone comes across a bowden rod controlled 722.118trans/617.912motor car please let me know. Thanks.

snorider:
At this point a few words about nomenclature may be useful. The term "Bowden" is a proper name, and hence, is capitalized; it is the name of the inventor of the cable that bears his name, and the name of the succeeding companies that produced the cables. The cable is an enclosed cable, the core of which can be either braided or twisted strands, or the core can be a solid wire. In MBs it is used to provide throttle position information to the transmission in 722.3/4/5 applications. The rod which you seek is a "Control Pressure Rod" in MB terms. It was used to provide throttle position information in 722.0/1/2 applications. Anyone who has followed your other thread on this matter will, I think, understand the nature of the part that you seek, by any name. |

I've got the setup from a 78 300d, 617, that I dropped a 617 turbo in, hence doing away with the rod controls. Let me see if I can locate the stuff.

PM sent. So far all I have located is the rod/bracket assembly that mounts to firewall and transfers all throttle movement to the right side on engine to interconnect to bracket that mounts on right side of block for the rod that goes to the tranny.
