FS: OM617 N/A Rebuilt Head
Listing this for a friend who owns a machine shop. Rebuilt, I believe, by a friend of his. These are all of the pix I have, and I don't know a whole helluva lot about it, other than it's from an N/A 617, and it's been professionally rebuilt. New exhaust valves. He said he tested and all valves hold vacuum.
I know the market for an N/A head might be low, and though I've done some research, I've come out the other side by saying that I THINK the only difference between the N/A and the Turbo head is the sodium filled valves. Perhaps someone knows of other differences. He said that if that's the only difference he can easily swap the valves if someone wants, and then POSSIBLY, BASED ON THOROUGH RESEARCH it can be used as a turbo head. But I'll leave that up to you. The casting # is exactly the same as my turbo head, and it does not have the SLS casting for a hydraulic pump. As is it will drop right on in an N/A. If you are interested, PM me and I'll pass on his number and you can fire away all of your questions, but again, my knowledge of this head is next to nothing, so please no further questions. PM for #... $500 Thanks!
