WTB: W123 OM617 Cruise Control Hardware

Hi All,

I've got a customer in Australia that is looking at add cruise control to his W123. Its a 1980 123.190 300TD (n/a). He's going to be using the later 14-pin system. He's got an amplifier, an actuator and the necessary harnesses but needs some of the mounting parts and linkages. He'll also need the sensor that mounts into the back of the instrument cluster.

The one thing I am not sure of is the actuator mount area. I know on my 617's the actuator mounts right to that area near the PS pump and it doesn't look like his has the provisions? I could be wrong. Its been a while since I've had an actuator off my 617s and my memory is hazy.

Here are some photos of what he currently has:

Anyway, let me know what you have, how much you want for it, etc.

Thanks Guys!

He will need the cruise control stalk if he does not have it in the wire harnesses he has.

Sorry I've not replied to this thread. I got a few more photos of his engine bay:

One thing I do not see is a place to mount the actuator bracket. Any thoughts on this? I know there is an intermediate bracket that goes on top that area next the PS pump..It has been a while but I think those two bolts come out and the intermediate plate mounts there...

Here is the information on the sensor...

So the big issue is the top-of-the-valve cover linkage bits....his 123 has a bowden cable going to the throttle linkage..whereas all the 617's I've seen are ball/socket rod style...Any thoughts?

I have the stalk and the silver box. I have the connector also. You can have it for free if you pay the postage. It should fit in a flat rate box.

I have the two piece bracket or however many pieces it is off of a 240D if it is the same. I think that it is.

Hmmm I'm not entirely sure.

My main concern is adapting the rod/ball linkage to his cable setup. I'm not sure on the mechanical mounting of everything. Would he have to convert to all linkages or could he retain the cable at the head of the system and just go to linkage down past that? Or? Hmmmm

Here are pics of the 82+ linkage:

Alright guys. My customer got in touch with someone who had gone down this path before.

Here is what his end result setup looks like. I've circled the parts that I believe he needs

It looks like the standard two linkage pieces that are on most 617s as well as the bracket that runs down to the length of the valve cover. The one part at the top though...

I think I have everything you need on a w123 300d. Does he no longer need the actuator bracket near the filter? Ill try to gather up the parts tomorrow and send a photo.

You mean the bracket that is mounted to the power steering pump, that holds the actuator?

Yes he will need the bracket as well as the bolts if you've got them. If not I can pick up a set for him from the hardware store. Can you drop me an email (JamesDean59@gmail.com) with some pics and how much you would like for everything?

Thanks!

Looks like he also needs the sensor and screw that mount to the back of the instrument cluster too. Let me know if you've got that too. I'm not sure if that part is W123 specific or not.
