om617 auto trans/bosch reman starter

have an auto trans from an 85 and a bosch reman starter which doesnt look very old and worked good.
the trans shifted great it will need a dip stick tube tho.
$50 for starter
$150 for trans
located close to louisville ky

Starter is the same either way, although the trans would vary. The W123 tranny can be swapped into the W126, but not vice versa.

EDIT: I originally misspoke and said that the W126 tranny can go into the W123. It's actually the other way around; the above is now corrected to reflect that.

The transmission number would tell you. If it includes "722.303" in it, it is the 300SD tranny; if it includes "722.315", it is from the 300D.

Here's info from DieselGiant on how to find the transmission number:

The tranny numbers are located on the passenger side of the case right above the pan. The most important part of the number scheme is the 722.118. Necessary when you need tranny parts. 722 means automatic, 1 means 4 speed 4 bolt pan, the 18 means the type of auto or version number. The 056971 is the serial number
