FS set of four aluminum non-bundt wheels
I have a set of aluminum non-bundt wheels on a car that's getting hauled to the pick-a-part next week.
Anyone have any interest in them? One ding at the edge of one that could be easily be straightened with a block of wood and a sledge. Were painted black at some point but that's worn off. These unique wheels are 1/2 the weight of steel rims. Make an offer. Also, a nice set of four hubcaps. Inserts are painted English Red. Make offer. Will post pictures when I get back home and can resize them.

Pics of alloy wheels
As promised, pictures.
The tires are demounted now and I will get pictures of each of the wheels next time I'm at the shop. R

Bump for shameless self-promotion:
These wheels and hubcaps are still available. Make a reasonable offer.

These are the 5 1/2" x 14" wheels, not the 6" x 14" wheels, correct? They are worth not scrapping but I don't want them. But someone should save these.

ponton owners might want these.
also you may want to offer parts from your car |

Actually, as being probably THE aluminum wheel source in the states, the primary customer for the aluminum steelies is Pagoda owners. They are the ones that are most concerned about performance and unsprung weight. In my own usage, I've put the aluminum wheels on my '71 250C and my '85 300TD. Great wheels.

Keep in mind that the hubcaps, if original to these wheels, have slightly different clips than those used with standard wheels. The clips should be saved although they can be purchased new (for something like $5 each). The difference in the clips is that they have a nylon pad/covering at the point where the clip meets the wheel so as to not scratch the wheel.

I have a set of the rarer version of these in 6x14 but I've always thought I'd be better off getting a set of the 5 1/2's and selling the 6's as I have no plans for wider tires. I'm in Central Texas but I think it would end up costing too much per wheel to ship them unless you ever travel this way. You likely need a local buyer and me a local seller.

As for the 5 1/2" vs. 6", on most cars that buy these (Pagodas) they almost always want the 6" because it matches what they had (unless they had a very early 230SL). For Fintails I think the 5 1/2" is probably a better choice. |

i'll start at $100 + ship to 60051, seeing as everyone would rather talk about them.
