1973 W115 220D Part Out
Albuquerque, NM
Pics of the car can be seen here (scroll down to the '73's gallery, click on an image and then arrow through the images): Private **** Time to get busy taking this car apart. Things I am keeping: - Engine with IP (but some accessories, manifolds can go) - Starter - Radiator - Front brake calipers and rotors - Head and tail light assemblies - blade bumpers - Fog lamps - Most dash/console switches, radio - Rear end half shafts - Steering box - Maybe a few other randoms I can't think of now Pretty much everything else is available, interior, door stuff, glass, etc. Some highlights: - Front door handles, trunk and glove box lock cylinders, and ign. switch with brand new steel key from MB. - Kit of stuff for converting an automatic car to 4 speed stick (2 trannies, lame 2nd synchro in one, lame 3rd in the other but both are still driveable) - Decent front fenders and LH doors - Nice hood and trunk lid - AC related stuff - Rebuilt front suspension with about 50K miles on it - All four coil springs were new 50K miles back (car sagged & stance was off) - Heavy duty German shocks with about 50K miles on them (Bilsteins? Can't remember) If interested in anything post or PM. As I go through things I will post photos of some of it here. I won't ship the larger stuff, but I will drive to meet if you are in the 4 corners area, Texas and OK panhandles, or Mexico. Phil, how 'bout we chop off the rear end for you and haul it to a spot you can store it? That would be simpler than carefully cutting all the panels you need out.

Well, shoot. I took the car down to the shop to begin the tear down but I can't bring myself to do it. I won't part this one out after all. I put too much effort into it over the years and it still drives very nicely. I am going to swap a few things between this car and my '74 and then let it go whole.
What a danged yo-yo ride this process has been! Too much emotion around the idea of cutting this one up despite its challenges. In the end I just can't do it!
