WTT / WTB: W115 240D INTAKE MANIFOLD

I am looking for the W115 240D intake manifold. It bolts up to the OM616 engine as well. Here are a few pictures of one.

I can offer the following"

1. My injector service for up to 5 injectors

and for a really clean intake I will toss in 5 new heat shields and 1 meter of return line

OR

2. Cash (PayPal) ... shipping to zip 29229

Please PM if you have one.

Greazzer-
There is a w115 240d at a salvage yard about 30 minutes from where I live. I would be willing to bet it still has its intake manifold. But I am hesitant to buy it from them, just in case you find one closer to you first. Hopefully someone else can track one down for you first. But if not, let me know and I can check at the yard for you.

OK. I have had a number of folks contact me ... however, no one has committed. I already sourced the EXHAUST Manifold I was looking for.

So, right now the missing piece is the INTAKE ...

If you want, I will wait until Friday and if I don't get a hit I am happy with, would you be OK with the trade / swap vs. cash??? I really prefer to exchange my injector service and with the HS and 1 meter of return line, that's worth around $120 shipped. I am thinking the yard will probably charge around $20 bucks, or at least that is what our P-A-P would charge and shipping, even from zone 8 to me should not exceed $20 bucks, so the "swap" is really in the ballpark of $50-ish or less for something at least well over $100 ...

That would be my ideal scenario. I did swap my injector service for the exhaust manifold I was looking for ...

So, let me know if you're OK with the above.

Greazzer-
That all sounds fine. You have already done injectors on my 220d, but my 300TD could use some love. I know that is 6, so I would kick in an appropriate extra amount in the trade. Anyway, like I said, hopefully someone can find it for you more locally to avoid shipping costs. But if not, I would like to try to help you out.

Don't worry about it. If you have 6, then send me 6. Tomorrow is Friday, so around 4 PM my time I will let you know one way or another. That way, you have plenty of time to plan your weekend to hit the yard or not.

So I finally got a chance to call the salvage yard, and unfortunately they have crushed that w115 and didn't save any of the remaining parts off of it. The car had sat for years in the same spot, so it is strange that they finally decided to get rid of it. Anyway, sorry for the false hope.

I really hope that someone can track one down for you. Sorry again.

No problems ... I got three (3) folks who have contacted me and each is either verifying they got the correct part or they are digging it out of storage ... I am pretty sure I find one by this weekend, one way or another.

Years at the yard ? Wowza ... ours crushes cars in around 90 days, sometimes sooner, all depends where it is parked. I've seen them crush seemingly pretty decent cars within 30 days ....

Awesome. I am glad you have some leads.

Yes, I live in a strange part of CA where there are virtually no salvage yards. In L.A. area, I believe cars only sit for a short time in a salvage yard. But by me, cars are just left to slowly rust away in salvage yards. Essentially, there is no turnover of vehicles, which is a drag. But if one shows up that you like, you (normally) have plenty of time to get anything that you want.
