240D Auto Crossmember? (for 300D 4speed swap)
Hello everyone!
I'm in the process of swapping my grey 82 300d to a 4 speed, i'm slowly making progress. I've got the auto out, flywheel in, trans in, but i'm now at a impass. I have the crossmember that originally came on the 300d, as well as the 240d manual crossmember, and another crossmember that came from a 240d manual that had been converted to a 5cyl automatic (I don't know either, i grabbed the manual pedalset, hoped the crossmember was what I needed, but nope) None of these fit correctly. I know some people have modified crossmembers, welding on or cutting off, which I can do if it comes to that, but I'd prefer to have the mount that just fits properly from the get go. Does anyone happen to have one I could obtain fairly reasonably? I'm near Knoxville TN, can come pick up if you aren't too far away, or if you're too far for me to drive reasonably, we can work out shipping or whatever. Thanks!

These were available from the dealer for somewhere in the $75 range a few years ago. I don't know if they are still or not but its worth a shot.

can you keep me updated as im going to do the same thing. my car is an 83. the only problem I can think of is the driveshaft. are you using the original bolts to hold the transmission to engine block? did you have to balance anything ie flywheel to engine ect
