WANT TO BUY: KLANN TOOL KL-0343
Looking to buy or trade, or both, the KLANN TOOL 0343. Klann Tools KL-0343 Mounting Device for Timing Chains. Tool is designed to allow one person to change / mount a timing chain in a OM616 / 617 engine (and maybe others).
This posting is following the same exact format as my "Want to Buy" the time chain crimper tool. (I found a crimping tool). Please PM if you have one. They appear to cost around $125 new. |

Has anyone ever found these tools? I will be needing one of these and a reputable crimper because I have several OM 616-617 timing chains to redo. Thanks!

If you can't find the tool, zip ties, safety wire, and bungee cords will hold it in place for you.

I reached out to the Manager - email address. I checked E B A Y too ... Let's see what happens.
And yes, zip ties, et al. Looking for the most "fool" proof way since if you skip a tooth ... that will suck and will soak up a bunch of time ... |

Keep us posted & good luck. Once I get mine, I plan on a chain and crank seal R&R.

Tool is in hand now ... along with the real crimper tool. Enough to do the timing chain. Amazing that the "real tools" to do the job cost a decent chunk of change. Admittedly, the crimper I got is 2nd hand, although it looks about new. Hat tipped to those who find work-a-rounds to avoid buying the above toys. I have 'skimped' and picked up the Chinese cloned spring compressor which works just fine, although it is probably one of the more dangerous jobs as compared to a chain R&R ... lol
