3rd brake light repair kit w124 w126 w201
Hey everyone,
I'd like to offer a repair kit for the 3rd brake light cover on W201 W124 and W126 cars. The back cover is held in place securely with fasteners so the bulb can be replaced. It includes everything needed, and the assembly instructions. $30 shipped in North America, contact me for shipping cost for everywhere else. |

First Aid Cover tabs and Mirror Cover tabs
I did something like this to fix the broken mirror cover interior panel. I think the same would work for the first aid cover.
Are you looking for this side of the clip? |

ptoro01, I think you misunderstood the previous question because of a typing error. Optimusprime meant (I think), "Do they FIT in front of the first aid lid". He was not asking about a different product, but just some clarification about your original post.

Are you asking about cars without the 3rd brake light from the factory? There's another piece that mounts onto the rear parcel shelf, then the light assembly slides into it.
This is just a repair kit for the lid on the light. When changing the bulb, the tabs can break off and then there's no way to close it back up. The kit is a fastener system to be able to put the light back together. I'm not selling the whole light. When installed, it's just like stock, you can't see that a repair was done. |

Here's a guideline on how to install the kit.
The most important aspect is to hold the screws straight while the glue sets, if they aren't parallel, it'll bind the parts together. It helps to use the spacer as in the 4th picture. Once glued, remove the spacer and slide the washer in. Then reinstall the spacer and finally the nut. This will hold the sides together. As a word of caution, the plastic is fragile throughout, and not just the clips. Don't squeeze too hard or apply too much torque when tightening the nut. The glue takes a good 10 minutes to set, it's slow acting, there's no rush to stick it down. I let it cure for a couple hours and it's solid. |
