FOR SALE: OM616 ENGINE AND AUTO TRANNY
I am getting ready to convert back to a 5 speed manual in my diesel, and I will have a spare OM616 engine with the rare SLS casted head, Euro features, e.g., "M" pump, Sanden A/C and compatible block, Euro oil filter, et cet.
Having said that, I should have ready for sale my current engine and auto tranny (NOT THE ABOVE ONE). This is why I am selling ... ALL the easy maintenance and repairs have been done, eg, all fuel system components, et cet, were done to include: 1. Rebuilt Injectors 2. Rebuilt Lift Pump 3. Valve Adjustment 4. Oil Change, flush, and another oil change and filter 5. New GPs 6. New gaskets, e.g, lower oil pan, VC, et cet 7. It will come with the MANN Pro Vent separator which is head and shoulders better than stock. It has it now, and it will stay. I will be changing the timing chain and replacing the front crank seal, and setting the timing with my AVL BUND diesel pistol timing tool. I just got all the tools to do the timing chain (Tools are NOT part of the sale). Other than that, it is leak free but I will do another look-see. It will have a new water pump as well. Wasn't necessary to change it, but I had a new one so in it goes. I will also toss in a new thermostat. The engine and tranny have a documented less than 140K on the clock and it drives strong, and everything which needs to be replaced, e.g., R&R maintenance is done from what I can tell. In other words, other than a major engine overhaul, I have done all maintenance which a person could do. As for the tranny, it shifts smooth and nice. I will do a fluid and filter R&R on the tranny as well. I used only GERMAN made parts except for the oil, and the obvious non-German parts. When some of my film crew gets home from college in a few days, I will take a comprehensive video of the performance to evidence its condition. $1,000 FIRM plus delivery / shipping. I think if you add up just the parts, that's around $1,000 for the FMV of the parts or pretty close to that. |

Per the email, currently not interested parting drivetrain. In other words, I prefer to not just sell the tranny. However, if I get multiple buyers, then maybe. I prefer to just move all of it so to speak.

Lots of traffic on this, however, I am still pursuing selling the entire drivetrain unless someone just wants the engine for a price close to the total price. And no, not willing to sell for $700 or $750. The pricing is pretty firm.
