300TD parts needed: crossbars for roof rack, rear bumper
Hey All-
My 84 300TD (silver-blue/navy leather, 150k miles) just went to the body shop for nearly $4k worth of repair from a nasty hailstorm. When it comes out looking new, I want to add the factory crossbars to the roof rack. Also, I would like to have them put a new/used rear bumper on while it's in- the previous owner got rear-ended lightly in it. With these additions, it might be the cleanest TD I've ever seen. Any leads on such parts would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Did you ever find...
the crossbars for the roof rack? what do you use the roof rack for? Where did you end up finding them?

What's a good rear bumper worth to you? Any guys out there thinking a sedan bumper looks like it will fit, I have one question for you? How are you going to mount the backup lights?

scored crossbars, no bumper
Hey guys-
I found a pair of crossbars on a parts car at a local Mercedes mechanic's garage- haven't done anything about a bumper yet- mine isn't too bad, just pushed in on one corner where the PO got rear ended. FYI- don't think a sedan bumper will fit a wagon, because of the reverse lights. I have spent a little too much $ on my TD lately, so the bumper will have to wait awhile... -JAS |
