MBZ stopped making them after a short while, as the BabySmart resonator in the seats were not located correctly & didn't disable the airbag under certain conditions. I ended up using mine for a year, then bringing t to MBZ under their recall & getting them to give me a booster seat.

Sorry if this doesn't help, but I hope explains why you're having a tough time tracking one down

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the response. I know about the recall but I was under the impression DB swapped the babysmart seats for new ones. Are you saying the 20-40lb seat was recalled or traded for a different seat? I ask because it's the 20-40 I can't find, my dealer has toddler seats and a couple of guys have offered the infant carrier 0-20lbs.

But as you say, the one I want is hard to find! H E L P somebody!

I wanted a 20-40lb seat as well for my grandson. Dealer said only the sub 20 lb seats were available. I figure in 3 months he would be out of the smaller seat, so I guess it is an aftermarket seat for the back of the old 300E.

Well now this seat search is becoming a mission of sorts...

One thing unmentioned is that the dealer had told be to expect new updated seats to be available by Sept. Now the part guy can't say when they will have them. The clowns at 1800mercedes don't have any information and would have us believe that they would be the first to know! So....no point in firing an email requesting current info. from what ever group actually markets the car seats

I wonder if DC is really going down hill afterall.....they certainly don't seem well run, jmho!
