350slc
The 350 is a 1972. It is in good condition for a parts car, i.e., most of the panels are good, doors, hood and trunk are good, the engine was running well before it was shut down for restoration last year. To my knowledge the car has never been wrecked. I bought it for a parts car, mainly to put the 4 spd. trans. in my 77 450slc, but have decided that my auto trans. works well enough. It has no A/C or radio. I under stand that the Euro 350 engine actually has about 40 more HP than the US 450 engine. I understand that the 4 spd. manual trans. is almost impossible to find for these cars.
The car was owned by a man that bought it in Germany, and shipped it over here. Apparently the customs would not let it in w/o being converted to US std. He shipped it back to Germany, had the headlights changed, and the other modifications that were needed, and then shipped back to the States. He worked in the oil industry back then and had more dollars than sense. It sat in a garage near my house in S. Texas for the last 10 years.
