Good work Afshin, it looked for a while there like it wasn't going to work. Now lets get some use out of that 500...........

But overall a nice look

You have 7, we have 6

Willie:

Afshin and I studied your grill before we did ours ... we have 6 horizontal bars (extruded aluminum inserts) and you have 7. All of our pieces are OE pieces. Where did you get yours?

I recently visited Hi-Power (Ernesto) who updated his 300E with an aftermarket grill that came from Germany. It was a single injected molded piece that was finished entirely in a 'chrome' finish and then painted gloss black to resemble the plastic frame.

From a distance, it looked good, but the gloss black paint didn't 'look' right.

Now ours, as Alon mentioned, has a larger space between the upper grill frame and the first set of horizontal bars. We will be adjusting the assembly to correct this.

We are working on a 'How To' thread which shows how and where we cut the componets, and how we fitted the grill into the frame.

eBay...fellow was from Houston. I gave the info to Aldedmon sometime ago. I wasn't particularly interested in OEM, just the look. Considering it was relatively inexpensive, I thought if I didn't like it, I'd go back to stock. Fortunately, I was happy with the result.

Alon,

Norm had mentioned the same thing about the gap on top but it never really bothered me. IMO it looks worse in the pictures than it does in person since you can't see the plastic that fills in the gap at the top.

Willie,

Is the plastic on your grille black or grey, its difficult to tell from the picture. Are you planning on getting the license plate delete eventually or did you put your MBPORSCHA plates on the front too?

Norm,

When are we going to finish the grilles? I have a couple more ideas that should help complete the install. Let me know, I have some time available before the GTG at Seal Beach!

The plastic is shiny black and I have the filler for the bumper from Phil at PartsShop, I just haven't gotten around to putting it on because it needs to be painted to match the bumper (black), it came in the bottom cladding color of the black pearl cars.

Willie,

Give Phil a call, sounds like he sent you the 94 plate delete rather than the 92. The 92's were black and matched our bumpers perfectly, the 94's were painted to match those cars bumpers. The 92 is also cheaper by about $30.00 so it's worth the effort. Not to mention it won't chip over time!
