WTB Blue MBTEX patch from w123

Hi,

The seat in my 83 300D is pretty good except for a hole that is about 3 inches high and 2 inches wide on the seatback. I have seen pretty good jobs of patching and stoping growth by simply gluing a patch of the same vinyl right over top and around the hole, which seems to allow it to wear better.
So, if someone has a 'dead' seat with blue MBTEX, or a seat that they arent using anymore because the MBTEX is torn, I would love to buy a piece of the smooth area (not the middle of the seat cushion or seatback), as large as possible. I think a piece from the seat sides would be preferable, as it would have seen less wear and degredation.

If someone has an old useless seat or MBTEX laying around, in 1983 300D Blue color, please let me know.
Thanks

JMH

JMH,
I reupholstered my front seat with a material very close the the DK Blue on my 84 300D. I would be willing to send you a piece to enable you to patch the hole, nc. It is not exact however, I think the actual patch would be most prominent, not the surface texture.
The Upholstery job for the front seat only cost me $75.00, and it looks great. No one would notice unless that individual is told it was redone. Not as expensive as you might think. You may want to look for a shop in your area.
Let me know.
Regards, Tom
