Angry 1autobodyparts.com Rip Off!!!!! READ

Hi everyone,
First of all, since this is my first post I would like to congratulate the owner(s) and all others that were involved in creating this site and its forum and maintaining it. SWEEET.
For the past few months I have been sneaking around reading post that have help me more than the current 2 Disk CD and Euro Haynes manuals have together.
Now back to business....

This is a warning to all that have seen and visited these websites and have or have not purchased product from this company.
The parent company is called:
Parts Components International, Inc. (also known as PCI)
Listed below is half of the websites that PCI has been stealing under.
www.partscomponents.com
www.1autobodyparts.com
www.2autobodyparts.com
www.autopartsland.com
www.partscomponents.com
www.auto-headlights-taillights.com
www.myautobodyparts.com
www.auto-body-parts-online.com
www.autopartsdiscountcenter.com

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SITES. If you find other sites that have prices that are too good to be true, compare the "Terms and Conditions" page before purchasing. If the "Terms and Conditions" are similar, walk away.

The sites advertise product that they don't have in stock. They will tell you that they do, but as soon as your credit card processing is completed (1-2 days) you will be notified of a 4-8 week delay.
So what do you do?? Most people cancel their order. What happens when you cancel your order?? You are charged a 25% fee.
If you lucky you get your money back through your credit card protection plan. I'm still waiting....
For those individuals that don't cancel their order, 2-4 months later,,, some get the items they ordered,,, some are still waiting

For more information check with the BBB and www.badbusinessbureau.com (also known as www.RipOffReport.com)
Hope this helps some of you.

I am going to run a thread...

in the open discussion forum, with a link to this one. I think that everyone should know abou this, before they inadvertantly do business with them. If it is permissable to post in the tech forum, will a moderator please email me?

Thanks,

just something to let you all know, but as far as I know, no company is allowed to charge your credit card until the items are ready to ship.

When I had my computer company, We once ran a charge before we had shipped something, and visa called us up and *****ed us out for doing so and said if we did that it was fraud.

Question

Ashman,

Could you explain how they are getting away with this type of fraud? Is it possible that they are telling the credit card companies that items have been shipped? I believe they are doing this daily.

Thanks,
Stevo

We all need to be reminded to read the "Terms and Conditions" of ANY card: credit or ATM, or any other financial obligation.

When Paypal first came out I signed up. Thought it was smart, convenient and great. Suddenly a credit card of mine that was linked to them wouldn't take a purchase. Odd I thought since it had a credit limit of well over $5k and I had only purchased a few items and there was no balanced carried forward (paid off each month).

I called the card company and they told me Paypal had entered an amount that maxed the card! I was outraged. I called them. They agreed that it was a mistake but couldn't to this day explain how the exact amount in multiple numbers was charged to my card to achieve the EXACT limit of the card.

Long story short, Paypal agreed to send a credit back to the credit card but it would be at least 30 days ..... AND get this, they would not agree to any fees, interest or penalties I got because of their mistake!

Several weeks later a close friend had the same thing happened.

Needless to say, I will never use them.

Read terms and conditions carefully ....

Haasman

Was this before or after Ebay bought PayPal out? I believe things have changed a bit, before I heard the president of PayPal openly admitted that they hid the customer service links. Also you could expect a few day wait on replies.... I haven't tried contacting them lately but they seem to have links everywhere now and I haven't heard as many complaints. However as for their fraud there is a site with nothing but complaints and advice on it, http://www.paypalwarning.com

Nothing has changed with Ebay-PayPal.

My wife was recently charged for a purchase that never shipped. She's battling with Ebay & PayPal to get her money back.

She will never again do business with Ebay or any group linked to PayPay.

It is illegal to charge the card before the items are shipped.

In 1992 I was a witness for the District Attorney in Ventura County, CA that went after a mail order house that billed and didn't ship. They got fined 40k and relocated to another state.

It took a lot of consumers to complain before the DA looked
into it.

Squeaky wheel gets the attention.
I still keep one card with a 500 limit and use it for most online purchases. Can't use it for the bigger stuff but I think it limits the chances for fraud. The 500 card is the one I use with Paypal.
I have been double charged a couple times (not paypal) but they took it right off when I complained. I think a call to the credit card company would put the offending merchant in peopardy of loosing their ability to accept cards.
