trade nice W220 wheels for W140 wheels in SF Bay Area
The wheels on my 95 S420 look like they were cleaned with 80 grit sandpaper. I have a set of nice W220 wheels with caps but no lug bolts but I'd rather go with either of the W140 wheel styles. No tires on the W220 wheels, and they have MB logo, part number and 'Ronal' markings.
Is anyone interested in trading for a set of W140 wheels in similar condition to my W220 wheels? Either style is fine. I'm more after condition. I'm not willing to spend for shipping but I might pay extra for wheels with a decent set of tires if that's what you have to offer. I'm not big on chrome but let's talk. Photos available and I can probably meet up with forum members in the area if you need a third party assessment. Please let me know. Thanks, Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

I know where a set of R129 8 holes are in decent shape. Also a posible set of 01 215 (CL) 3 spokes are. Those might look cool on a 140.

From what I hear, only W140 and W220 wheels have lug holes big enough to take the proper size lug bolts.
I have an R129 wheel so I can try. I'll post pics shortly, but these wheels look just like other W220 wheels. Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

The lug bolts from a 140 are different than a W220 as the thread is the same but the head of the 140 bolts is twice as long as the w220

Attaching photos in this forum continues to frustrate me. I see fabulous quality photos, multiple photos, etc., and it's still a challenge for me to post a picture larger than 800x600. I use MS Photo Editor and I don't know how to knock down resolution without making an unacceptable dent in image quality.
Stampings on the back side are 7-1/2 J x 16 H2 ET46, A220 400 0102, Ronal, and a few other things I figure are inconsequential. Lug bolt holes are the same 14mm as W140 wheels. For pictures of this set of wheels, please see http://photos.yahoo.com/tabijan in the W220 wheels album. Some photo notes: None of the wheels have curb rash. They all look pretty darn good. wheel 1 - the scuffs at 2:45 are residual tape adhesive from shipping bubble wrap. I'm scared to rub off these marks wheel 2 chips - looks like damage from tire mounting. If you look at the wheel face dead on, you don't see these chips. wheel 2 stamping - only wheel 2 has this stamping wheel 3 chip - more of a scratch below paint depth All wheels have the same markings on the back side. they arec a 8 on a 1-10 scale. I bought them from a memeber here and had one of my vocation schools refinish them as a project.
