US style headlamp assemblies for W126 chassis

I have a pair of headlamp assemblies for a 1981-85 W126 sedan. These are the original US style, which were removed to install European lamps. I am unsure what model they are from but they should fit any 1981-85 S-Class sedan. Assemblies include headlamps, fog lamps, all bulbs and lenses, but NOT the side lamps (turn signals or side markers).
Lamps appear to be intact in all respects EXCEPT that there is a small mounting tab missing from the grill side of the driver's lamp. So that lamp could be held in place by only three of the original four mounting points.
I assume everything is functional, but cannot actually vouch for that as they were not on my car.
If anyone is interested I can check the Bosch part numbers or check any other detail you need.

David B

Headlights

David,

How much do you want for the headlights...someone backed into my car and broke the drivers-side light and bezel.

Thanks,

Dave

W126 headlamps

Just took a better look at these lamps. There is a mounting piece broken off from the driver's side assembly, at the lower left corner (that is, on the grill side of the lamp). It is a slot into which some piece on the car must fit. I had not noticed this earlier, for which I apologize. The other three corners of the lamp have intact mounting points, and everything else looks OK. (The passenger side lamp has all four mounting points intact.) My experience is that three mounting points will secure these lamps just fine. But if you do not want to risk it, I will understand.
If you are still interested I will ask for $250 for the pair, plus shipping. That is about what a typical commercial price is for a single unit, for used lamps.
Also, it looks to me as if the break point for the lamp design change is between 1985 and 1986. So these will fit the 1981-85 S-Class sedans, not the later ones. Is yours in that year group?
Thanks for your interest.

Headlights

Hey Dave,

Thanks for responding. $250 is too steep for me...I'm looking to sell the car and thought it would be better to fix the headlight.

Take care,

David

So what would you think is fair for the one lamp you need, in its slightly damaged but still quite useable condition?
(You might want to reply via the private message service if you want to keep your negotiations private.)
