I'll be interested to hear how you get yours out. I have given up until next Spring. Started the project twice and scared myself due to fear of breaking the curved portion of the interior panel.
Good Luck.

Curved portion of the interior panel?
I am not familiar with any such thing on the rear hatch of a W123 TD wagon.
Please elaborate

GDR
This is the uppermost portion of the interior panel where the lock mechanisim and "third" brake light are. There are apparently clips in this area. I have popped all of the other retainers but the uppermost area, so far, has continued to not budge. Like I wrote, I am afraid of breaking this panel so when it didn't budge I called it quits.

My rear wiper motor and washer is not working. I can hear the relay clicking yet the wiper doesn't even try to move.

I'll be following your post to see how you make out with the replacement.
Best
Steve

I see in your post that you have a 1987 TD...that being a 124 chassis car, of course there is a concern for that trim piece. Mine is a 123 chassis car and has no 3rd light or difficult trim piece as the 124 car has...it's a piece of cake to get apart... good luck with yours!

No idea!
Are they used or new?
Let me know asap, as I will be tackling this right after the holiday
