Do you happen to know what the nibs signify on the bushings? See how two of the bushings have 2 nibs (and one offset at 90 degrees) and the other two have 3 nibs?

I'm asking because I'm replacing the bushings in my 16V and noticed that all 4 of my bushings have 2 nibs.

I believe the nibs have to do with how HARD the bushings as well as how to orient/mount the bushing.

When I rebuilt the front control arm's on the wagon, I installed the harder 190E-16V bushings rather then the W124 Sportline bushings. Thus, the wagon has more "feel" of the road than the 500E.

Glen, I don't know what the significance of the nibs are. I looked in the bag of the parts that I have and unlike the pics, mine have the two square nibs on the upper side. The pic is from euroauto's catalog. I do know that the W124 chassis takes two different bushings. The ones I have are for the -13-711095 chassis.

Neil: they bushings I bought all have 2 nibs and supposedly are for the 16V. Can you confirm? (the part number is: 201 330 01 75)

Glen- the part number you have is the correct one for your 190E-16v.

FWIW, the EARLY W124 SportLine used the same bushing pn# as the 190E-16v, the later years used a softer "124" bushing (too many USA complaints on the "stiffness" the W124 Sportline).

Also, the EARLY 500E's used a different pn# (124.330.05.75) than the later years (124.330.06.75) again due to harshness of EARLY 500E's.
