Tom,

I didn't intend to counter your statement about STAR, when I posted my response I hadn't yet read your post.

I have no beef with Middle Easterners. I've traveled in Arabic countries and found people to be reasonable, friendly, and generally better informed about the world than Americans. I also happen to love Falafel.

Tom, is this who you are referring to? Shahverdi's Foreign Cars http://www.sfcionline.com/ If not is anyone familiar with them? Located in the Glen Burnie area.

My sister and brother had a bad experience with their workmanship. I wanted to take my c230 and 190e 16v there. But she'd had her head gasket replaced by them, and it leaked later. She ended up doing the work herself.

Currently, I've been using Pohanka (Salisbury, Maryland), and they are so damn awesome. I use to use I.G. Burton and have been screwed a few times. Any suggestions for Hunt Valley/Cockysville Maryland? I was thinking about checking out MB of Hunt Valley then some non-dealerships for my 190e.

Kent Island indi shop

Try Island Imports in Stevensville, near the Bay Bridge. He keeps my SDL running. Ask for Steve.

German Auto Service

I recently had a very good experience with German Auto Service in Jessup. Not the least expensive I've encountered, but worth the expertise and the enthusiastic customer service and quick turnaround.

Well, I've even had camel with them. Kind of dry, but tasty if coated with enough garlic and turmeric.

I've now also visited Hunt Valley Imports on York in Cockeysville. They were recommended by several benz drivers in my neighborhood as pleasant and reasonable. I tend to agree. They replaced my ball joints and charged for about 3 hours, instead of the 5.5 hours the manuals say. The ride and creak level have dramatically improved, so I think they did the job well. They were also very accommodating on schedule.

I agree, I have used Hunt Valley Mercedes (AKA Valley Motors).. Harry has always been accomodating, even let me provide some parts I had purchased but didnt have time to install. I have spent quite a bit of money there, parts guys are great, plus the give the MBCA discount.

Had an experience with R&H's parts department yesterday. I wanted one of the brass alignment tools to help you put wheels on and take them off by screwing it into a lug bolt hole. None of the three parts guys there knew what I was talking about and they tried and tried to find it on EPC net. After 20 minutes of research and hushed conversation, they went to find a tech. Then they came back and told me it is no longer available, was part of an optional toolbox back in the day. Really useless folks.

Hunt Valley Imports

Gotta put in another plug for Chris at Hunt Valley Imports. Had my 300D in for an oil change and, on his own initiative and nickel, he replaced the windlace in my driver's door opening from one of the donor cars on his lot. He also found a piece of dash wood which was cracked on my car and put that in, too.
