In Kennett Square, PA, the best guy by far for MB's -- especially for major engine work, diesels, and particuarly converting diesels to vegetable oil. -- is a guy name Fred. He works out of a little shop on Apple Alley just off Willow Street, and passes the low overhead on to his customers. Extremely honest and reliable -- though he has "flexible hours". So, call ahead (610 444-5599) before stopping by.

Thumbs down messed up simple atf fluid change

went in to change atf and filter...
they overfilled by three quarts and did not tighten bolts. had to make emergency stop and dealer. then a week later the main pan gasket blew-another trip to the dealer.

Seems like the shop technicians are kids

Fred Sinton

I concur. My wife and son were driving from RI to VA and lost a muffler in PA. Based on the above recommendation, I called Fred. He was extremely courteous, knowledgable, and helpful. Seemed to be attentive to detail and quality....and had a good sense of humor to boot. My wife was very impressed. While I hope never again to need one of my MB's serviced in PA, if the need arises, I would not hesitate to go to Fred again.
