Philadelphia Mercedes Shop

Overseas Motors at 15th and Fairmount in Center City Philadelphia is great. Carlos has owned the shop for over 25 years and only works on foreign cars. He's done an icredible job with my 1990 350SDL and used to take care of my Audi 200 Quattro as well.:D

Can't agree more! And beware of this shop!

Just went to Carlos 2 weeks ago. Told me he would not fix my evaporator leak (due to dash removal, general mountain of other steps required), but inspected the car, replaced the rear brake pads, replaced 2 fuel lines, mount and balanced 4 new tires, recharged A/C and replaced an A/C line (before he was sure it was my evaporator), replaced my idler arm, 4WA, degreased engine- all for $900.00! Done in a day and a half.

Woodlawn Automotive- Germantown, Philly. Guys at shop are very friendly- but have absolutely no desire to fix older benzes and show it by taking a week or more to fix your car on a scheduled appointment! Also, not nearly as knowledgeable as Carlos at Overseas' on Diesel engines. Never mentioned the possibility of the evaporator problem in my A/C system. Probably spent $2k at Woodlawn chasing it down- much of it probably on perfectly good, functioning parts. If you have a '98 or newer, may get better treatment...
