W201 Transmission Source (EastCoast-preferrably)

Last week my transmission started failing on me (wasn't automatically going into 4th gear and now while traveling up a grade, it will rev high). I had it at the dealer to see what the problem was. The problem is with the rear-most clutch pack.

These are prices I got from the dealership:
Transmission (722.408) - $3350 ($1300 core)
Torque Conv - $1150

Does anyone know of any 'good' sources for rebuilt transmission/torque conv. combo? Preferrably on the EastCoast of the U.S.

I was thinking of going with NJ based : http://www.europeanexchange.com/ (found them through an ad in 'The Star'). They quoted me for rebuilt trans/conv combo $1350+1 year warranty+exchange of the old unit (which I can just drop off). Has anyone ever purchased a unit from from them?

Any insight would be appreciated. Some of the online shops I see sell the rebuilt trans and conv seperate (for $1700+). For instance: adsitco.com ($1800+shipping+exchange), germanstar.net ($1800+shipping+exchange)

Thank you,
Karl

Try sending a note to Konstantine. He has tons of used parts and is somewhat local to you outside of Allentown.

Definitely go to Rex Carle in Downingtown. He rebuilt my 300CE transmission in 2005 or 2006, and it's still going great, even with two turbochargers on the car. Not a drop of a leak and never a hesitation in shifting.

And by the way, those prices are very high. Last year I had transmission on my E500 rebuilt for $2000.
