HELP Locating Rear Coil-Over Shock '98 ML320
 

Bilstein has discontinued production of the BE5-2984 rear shock for the '98 ML320. According to Bilstein there are none to be found (last produced in 7/03). Does anyone know where I can locate a pair of them or what is another alternative shock (I'd prefer to avoid the dealer since they want $374 each)? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I looked around too, but gave up. So far my rears are ok, but when the day comes I may try to make the newer ones fit. Maybe it's an easy mod to fit a '98? That or cut and weld new and old together.

You know the bilsteins don't come with coils.

The origional coils are used. I san mine to a garage and had them do it.
Didnt want to buy a coil clamping tool I'd use one day then store for decades.
