ML320 window switch
I need to replace a faulty window switch on a 98 ML320. It appears that if I remove the plastic liner box inside the center console, the switches will be easy to get to.
I have put medium pressure with a couple of screwdrivers to lift the box, but I do not see what is holding the plastic liner in place. There does seem to be a couple of holes which might accept some tool to unlock a latch, but it is not obvious to me. Anyone know the trick? |

There are two screws at the bottom of the box.

Once the bucket is removed, the wooden panel can be pried up or pressed up from underneath. The trim around the shifter will pop right off with the wooden trim, no need to remove it as a seperate item. Then disconnect all the connectors including the lighter electrical plug and the whole wooden trim panel will be off. The switch assembly snaps into the wooden trim.
