The ML in the blizzard of 2005 (lotsa pics repeat from Benzworld)

On a single road (storrow drive), a Nissan Pathfinder, a Dodge Durango, 3 Ford Explorers, various sedans and a E46 M3 were abandoned on the road during the height of the storm last night.

All guilty of not keeping their speed down, and those in SUV's, just being way over confident that they could somehow beat the laws of physics. Most of the SUV's abandoned had come to rest spun 90 or 180 degrees on the road.

Anyway, here's a cool pic of the ML with my super duper 255/55/18 Michelin XPC 4x4 M&S tires.

And here's a lonely roadway where only plows and the ML would dare tread...

Me behind a fellow ML (dunno who's this is - someone on the board?) treading carefully but confidently...

Don't know how many weeks it will take the city to return to normal...

Saturday night I had to drive appx 80 miles on the Merritt/Hutchinson River Parkway from Middletown, Ct to my home in NY. I saw no more than 10 vehicles the entire trip. Some of the road had been plowed smooth, and some portions had about 1 inch of powderly mush. My 98 ml, with 109,000 original miles, drove flawlessly and confidently, even when I decided to pass another suv, chevy I think, going far too slowly and therefore, I felt, too dangerous to stay behind- in such miserable weather I fear following someone who might brake suddenly. My new Yokohama Geolander 051s were superb, nothwithstanding their dubious test results for snow traction. And that's why the ml is worth it.
