Clogged EGR valve/oil sludging/oil consumption
Can a clogged EGR valve cause the oil sludging on the oil cap and excessive oil consumption? I replaced the EGR valve this weekend and it was caked up pretty badly. The valve was stuck. I read that this can cause pressure to build up and oil blowing pass the rings. The excessive oil consumption has been happening the past 6 months. The car had idle problem over this period too, until recently the CEL came on.
Just interested in everyone's opinion. Thanks, John |
