Can't get oil filter housing off

Oil filter housing very tight. Arrow indicates left-hand threading to remove. Any suggestions? Dealer did last service.

Oil Filter

You can buy the metal oem filter wrench cap at Mercedes, it fits perfectly and makes removing the oil filter housing a piece of cake. You need a 22mm socket or wrench to work with that cap. I think cost is less than $10!

Filter housing

I agree, the metal fluted cap wrench is the way to go.

I stripped a composite plastic one and returned it.

Get the metal cap wrench and it'll come off.

Mail order or dealer, its an investment that pays for itself quickly.
