Catalytic Converter leaking, can it be repaired or do I need a new one?
My Catalytic Converter on my 2000 ML 430 is split at the rear seam and the exhaust is leaking into the engine compartment, and thus into the cabin air.
New price by Benz is $1,300 plus $300 install. Any idea where I could either get a cheaper one, or a used one? Needs to conform to California standards. Thanks |

If you have less than 80,000 miles, it is still covered under the emissions warranty.
If you are out of warranty, you can get an exhaust shop to weld the crack. Do a search to learn what others have done. |
