Is the clutch replaceable on the ML430 A/C compressor?

Well my clutch is dead so I am wondering wether it is replaceable or is a new compressor the way to go?

I guess what I meant to say is my coil is dead that activates the clutch. After I got the clutch off it is pretty much used up also, but primarily need a coil.

If you get power to the clutch & it doesn'e engage THEN you should replace the complete compressor...ie: the fusible link is burned out.

the clutch assy comes with all electrical components. if the pump isn't bad why replace it too? seems unnecessary

"Nippon" Denso & MB says to replace the complete compressor IF the fusible link is burn't...due to the fact that the compressor stays engaged almost all of the time!

THEY say if the link is bad then the compressor has caused that problem...

Both also supply the clutch in case that the BEARING in the clutch goes bad!

If the coil is bad you should find the compressor is also bad.....

A/C WORKS AGAIN!!!!! I got a new coil and clutch for 150.00 and back in the cold. I removed the compressor mounting bolts and turned the front of the comp down towards the ground and changed the coil/clutch assembly in about 2 hrs.
