Cabin Filter

Can someone tell me where the cabin filter is located and how to access on my 99 ML320. I think it's time for a change!

it is under the dash on the passenger side, remove the plastic cover above the feet area and you will see the cover, pull back the plastic tab and remove the filter by pulling on it,

How often?

How often should these filters be changed? I don't usually even think about any filter other that the ones on the engine.

Dealer would change at approx. 20,000 mi.
