Eam Mod.
My 2001 ML430 door locks don't work from the key fob. The dealer said the EAM needs to be replaced. Does anybody know what this is and where is it located. I'd like to replace it myself and save a couple hundred dollars. If I do it myself does it need to be programed?
Please help |

Not a DIYer..requires programming. Monuts to the inside fusebox at the passenger side kick-panel.

If you order the EAM through the dealer. IF they ask the VIN number, shouldn't it already be programed?

No! that is an anti-theft part, will require coding of the DAS key transponder after replacement.
