Oil Level sensor leaks, question - Gilly

Gilly, it looks like the oil level sensor is leaking oil. I have found a picture of the o-ring for this sensor. Can the 0-ring be replaced WITHOUT removing the oil pan?
Thanks for you reply.

In a word, No. Been there and done that.

Forget the "O" ring replacement and just put a whole new sensor in the part is about $135 and carries the same labor charge as the ring. My dealer tried the ring replacement and it leaked even worse so in went the new sensor.

I did the o-ring by itself; and it hasn't leaked since. Obviously, different situations.

Probably the same situation but poor craftsmanship on my dealer's end with first "O" replacement, so I wasn't about to go the the ring replacement scenario again and just had them put in a new sensor since they were going down that same path again. Two things could of happen they screwed up putting in the new ring or the new ring would not seat properly with the old part.....who knows..... but it doesn't leak now plus I got a free oil change because it was their screw up.

I did the job myself. Perhaps that why the workmanship was better.
