ML320 Power steering fluid
 
Is it necessary to use MB power steering fluid? I has a hose pop off, drove only about 50 yards. Re connected hose and re filled with STP power steering fluid but now pump makes lots of noise. Could fluid be the issue or time for a new pump? has 200,000 miles.

The power steering hose problem is covered under warranty for 10 years. Take it to the dealer for check up and replace the power steering fluid with the MB fluid. This should be done @ Mercedes expense. Tow is covered also if needed. My 2 cents. :thumbsup:

OK but if i can avoid the issue of taking to dealer (because i work out of my car) simply by using a specific fluid, then i would like to do so.
