Can someone confirm if there is a magnet in the tranny oil pan of a ml.

Hello,

Planning to change the tranny oil on my 2000 ML. Can anyone confirm if there is or is not a trany magnet in the tranny plan.

If not is it a good idea to put one there??

thanks

there is one that was added later in production, if yours isn't there you should add it, get it from mercedes, it is specifically for their units the two numbers i have are 220-271-00-98 that was replaced by 169-371-00-03

so, you would get the later one 169-371-00-03.

Also, are there just sitting on the bottom of the pan or are they attached to something?

thanks
