Ok this simple question but I can't find the answer searching on this forum or on the net.

Was there a G-Wagen made with the 617 turbo engine? If no, why not?

From reading I've found them with 617's but no turbos. Has anyone done a swap? Thanks!

None from the factory. Lots of aftermarket swaps to the 617a.
