Power Steering Leak!

I have a 2002 ML320 and there is a small leak between the reservoir and the power steering pump. I spoke to a mechanic and they mentioned that it is very common for the gasket to wear out and to be replaced. I have removed the reservoir and now I have a metal elbow that goes into the pump. I did not see the gasket on the reservoir end so I am assuming that it is on the power steering side of the elbow. If so, how do I get the elbow out. I was able to turn it less than a quarter of a turn and that is it.

Please...

tell the rest of us how you fixed it, so we don't have to go through the discovery process. Thanks
