Need shop to fix ml skyview
 

Dealer said it may just be a warped motor in the rear of my 2001 ml430 with skyview / panoramic sunroof. Does anyone know how to fix this??? and how much do you think it will cost. Spring is coming and I'd love to have it fixed but dont want to break the bank, delaer said it would cost thousands to replace it.

from my experience, and i have repaired two of them, the repairs simply do not hold, we attemped to repair one unit and it failed almost immediately. so for that one and the second one i did we removed the headliner and replaced the entire unit and all has been fine since. best i recall it was quite a costly repair.

Oh, thats bad news, how pricey was it? I am willing to give it a shot if there is a chance, It seemed to work fine before the dealer had the car and all of a sudden it stopped. You can hear the motor trying to pull but no luck on opening it .

seems like the complete roof unit was over $3,000.00 plus cost of install but i may be wrong
