99 ML320 replaced engine, car went nutso.

Hello, Im a newbie here.
My 99 ML320 was poorly maintained, Ive had it a year and unfortunately the engine needed to be replaced....several thousand dollars and a big PITB later, My car is running again.
However, the wind shield wipers wont stop running, the gas gauge is not functioning, the lights flash every 10 minutes, the external temp is broken.
That mechanic is not touching my car again, guess I have to see the dealer. Sounds like a computer issue correct? any ideas?

To top of the fiasco, the window button disengaged and the shotgun passenger window is stuck entirely down.

Could be a loose ground. Many times that type of electrical problem is voltage related.

well
I was told it needs a new engine wiring harness. :O the previous mechanic broke a few parts.
Any idea how much this is going to run me? They are going to get back to me with the price. Ugh.

1999 ML engine replacement

Aren't 99 MLs covered under the 150,000 mile (Class Action Suit) engine warranty? Was yours over the 150,000 limit? I heard that some dealers have provided a short block beyond that. I believe I read it here.

Im a fool.
Now Im a broke fool.
I got a quote of 3400 for a new engine and declined that place.
I spent 2K on a new engine at the 1st repair place still I had many problems.
The 2nd place told me, I need the wiring harness ($1800) as the 1st place damaged it and because of that, my gas gauge is broken, my windshield wipers are haywire, the oil light is haywire and the temp gauge is broke. He changed the harness- then let me know the intake seal needs to be fixed ($456). My new window button was $250. All this is taking a extra week it seems..today he said- the cluster board needs to be replaced as the gauges still do not work, new one is $1200.
Im not doing that as I have no more money left. I wish I knew about the lawsuit in the first place and went to the dealer. My engine was filled with the "GUNK" described and the 2 mechanics that looked at it initially said, it had to go. It had 70K miles.

I have 99 ML320 and the engine failed at 77K miles. I worked with the laywer who actually filed the class action suit (Francis J. Farina). The MBZ dealership used to change conventional oil on my ML but they reset FSS to 10,000 miles until 35K miles, so I drove 8K-10K miles on regular oil. Even though there was en evidence of sludge, MBZ declined to repair the engine under this class action suit, but agreed to reimburse 50% or expenses.

I have collected a lot of informaiton about this class action suit, so if you are interested I can e-mail or post this info.
