2001 ml320 fuel pump
I have had the fuel pump fuse blow 3 times in two min.
So, is the acess to the pump through the cabin floor ?? NOT my first rodeo. Just want to approach this correctly. Many thanks. |

Remove drivers side rear seat & access panel is under carpet.

Note that there have been reports on defective wiring for the fuel pump. The pump itself may be fine. Inspect the wiring while you are doing this work.

No, won't short there & blow fuse...will go OPEN & not allow power to the pump.
Sometimes they even melt. Connection in behind the LR tire on the frame rail.

pump short!/??
I have checked the short harness from the plug at the pump to wheel well. No opens or bare wire to short. fyi I removed the cover and inspected each wire. Now I will check from cannon plug at wheel well to relay. Once again this ml would run all day at idle and very light throttle setting. As soon as you go 50% or more on the peddle it pops the fuse.
Many thanks for your help - any ideas. I got to get this back on the road. Bob Last edited by bob9390; 12-04-2008 at 12:31 PM. Reason: sp |
