ML rear shock/spring assemblies

Can anyone relate to me the correct procedure for accessing the upper mounting bolts of the rear shock/spring assemblies on a 99 ML430?
If the bolts are accessed through an interior panel what has to be removed to get to that point?

Thanks

remove the wheel liner and you shall see the bolts, if you have normal size hands, they are reachable without further dismantling of your vehicle. a racheting box end wrench is a must.

A 13 mm flex head Gearwrench (or Lowes' equivalent) will be your friend.
