Fuel Guage Problem

I have read other forums and I know that the fuel sending unit is often faulty in these cars. I also noticed that the sending unit reside as part of the fuel pump ......which from what I understand has electrical issues.
My fuel guage stopped working the other day, but the fuel pump seems to be fine. My other guages on the cluster seem to be working fine with exception of the fuel guage so I dont think it is a fuse issue.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I am not sure if this is a guage problem or a sending unit problem..

Can the guage be 'Reset'?

Measuring the resistance of the sending unit would be the starting point for ME.

At the connector for the fuel pump behind the LR tire measure the resistance.
With a Full tank the reading should be about 1 OHM & empty about 200. Reserve reading about 150 OHM.

Where is the connector?

I looked all around the LR tire; maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see the connector. Do you have to remove the plastic wheel liner to access it?

Found it

I was looking at the rear of the tire; it's toward the front, just below the fuel filter (which is mounted on top of the frame rail).
