Lots of folks in the know like these better than MBUSA G500's, as there are less electronic nannies to break.

Yet another indication that they don't know what they have.

I'm with you. I also like the idea of having bullet prove window regulators and a lever for the transfer case as opposed to a switch that randomly puts the TC IN NEUTRAL overnight.....

Here is another case in point. Fooled buy badge engineering

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2000-MERCEDES-BENZ-G-55-AMG-78K-MILES_W0QQitemZ220449254374QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item3353ccabe6&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=65%3A-1|39%3A1

It almost reminds me of a story I heard about a dealer that took in a 12 cylinder BMW 7 series as a trade....only to realize the next day that it was an 8 cylinder..............

Believe it or not, that one is apparently legit. I talked to the old Europa Int'l salesman about that one last night. He pulled the file and says it's a real AMG conversion.

Really? That is interesting. Did you ask why sort of work was done or how much power its putting out? (They are advertising as having the stock 300 HP)

I did not get detail specifics. He's available for consults. If you need his contact info, let me know.

In a W463? They're not common in the US.

Technically no Gwagen is common in the US. Unless your talking in relative terms, then its showroom floor G500s galore with the truly prized grays that require patience to find.

I wouldn't know. I've only been driving a G in the US for 25 yrs. There's always been one in my driveway during all that time.

*Cough* Jealous.....

Although this certainly is interesting (And right in your backyard)

1991 200GE Cabrio. I like it but a 190 engine for the Italian market only? I get the feeling that some parts might be hard to find. (Asking $20,000)

July 31 will be 25 yrs to the day.

As to that 200GE, it has not been Federalized and is registered in Georgia as a 1979 model. I've ridden in it, but wouldn't touch it with a 10 meter pole for those reasons. It also needs a fair amount of not inexpensive work.

I had a feeling that you knew something about it. Crash that with the title that it has and your in big trouble....(There is a writeup at East Coast Rovers about a guy who did that with a 2002 Defender 110.....) Unless its been sitting on and estate I'm a bit surprised that they were able to get it into the country in the first place.

(Besides I'm so picky that those aftermarket speakers in the doors are enough to put me off )
