722.6 Transmission Fluid Change with pictures

I was surfing along and found an excellent write up with great pics for the ATF old change (no lifetime fill flame wars plz) on the 722.6.

The member "G AMG" did a fine job with this DIY. Highly recommended.

I am at 95k and going to do mine next week when I get the parts (including the overpriced $40 dipstick tool just to be safe).

I have a copy of a .pdf someone did using "G AMG"s pics. File size is too big to upload here. If you go thru the thread, you will find it.

Uploaded are the first 5 pics of the job. There are 20 pics total.

I will post how mine goes.

Bravo G AMG.

Cheers,

Dickie

Thanks for the post
I'll have to do my sisters 00 E320 4MATIC soon
it has about 90k miles on it (same 722.6 Manumatic tranny)

First I had to get a handle on replacing one of the front differential axle seals properly. It kept dripping fluid after driving. I installed another one, hopefully it will hold up better. Been drip free the past few days, knock on wood. ;)

he forgot the part about not having a lift and rolling around on your back while getting tranny fluid and oil dry in your hair. Other than that, its a good post!

In his case, he has a lift installed in his garage at home.
