ML 430 EXHAUST REPLACEMENT
 
I HAVE A 1999 ML430 THAT IS IN NEED OF AN EXHAUST REPLACEMENT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE CATS ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL AS ALL OF THE SENSORS IN LINE ON THE EXHAUST. IT'S GOING TO COST OVER 2K TO GET IT DONE AT THE DEALER. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT OR SOLUTION THAT IS NOT SUCH A HIGH COST?

Pretty much anyone. Many recommend Magnaflow as an aftermarket replacement.

At a 135k miles both my CATS failed at the welds. My VIN was outside of the service campaign and well beyond the factory warranty for these parts. My dealer made a case for a “Good Will” warranty replacement to MBUSA and it was accepted. Needless to say I was happy to hear that news and the $2400dollars in warranty work was handled in about 4 hours.
