Help Please, ML320 wont shift out of first
Hi everyone, i have a 1998 Ml 320 with 122,000 miles
It started going into funk mode lately...symptoms are ABS lights go on Speedo goes out Truck wont shift out of first gear Shut truck off and start again everything is fine |
Have you checked batt voltage' alt output recently?

Any code or issue with the traction system will cause all of those problems.
Have the traction system scanned by MB shop with MB scanner. |

ETS traction code C1210 = issue with brake fluid level switch.
ETS traction code C1000 = traction system computer failure. Most likely your problem. |

If you erase those codes & then drive, do the codes come back?

Is a odbII a good enough scanner to get these codes out?

Nope, requires a MB scanner.

Well the tranny connector was full of oil, since been changed, could that affect those codes?

No, those codes are only from the traction system computer.

what are we talking about with the computer? $ wise?

Is this something i can do or is it a dealer only thing? Thanks for the help

For information purposes, the problem was the ETS controller...$1300 to fix
