OK....... So why on earth are there three vehicles on that thing at once? I guess being one to err on the side of caution(intelligence) I would never consider driving up the lionsback while other vehicles were on it. I see my concerns are well founded. What would have happened if one of the two vehicles coming down would have had a problem? Head on on the rock?

I think those pictures illustrate serious bad judgement. I have done some extreme things with my vehicles, high speed track events in the P-car and wild off-roading in the G, but that looks like plain old fashioned stupidity. PLEASE people do not allow testosterone or whatever lead you down a path like that. Those folks are lucky to be alive. A fall off of the other side would have been certain death.

Sorry for the rambling but, I just hate to see stuff like that happen. A little common sense would have prevented the whole scenario.

Howdy Brent,
I'm glad to see the rant from someone that has been there and knows. Thanx. If anyone that reads Brents post and can't quiet get what he is talking about check out my post Lionsback then you might get an idea about how stupid things got This incident and the Blazer incident make BIG news and people think off-roading should be band because of the stupid people doing it. It is tricky enough when you are carefull but lack of good sense makes it dangerous. End of Rant.

Frank, Thanks for the email update. I didn't see your email address on there so I will update here

In addition to not being real bright and climbing lionsback while two other vehicles were on it, the parties involved were likely drinking. Someone pointed out that the guy you see "guiding" the fated truck is holding a beer in his hand. The truck that rolled was trying to back up to get out of the way of the two coming down.
1) The black 4-runner had no business coming up until the others were down. I can just imagine what the guys on top were thinking..."what is this idiot doing?!?!"
2) You do not spot a vehicle that is backing up from the front, DUH! They dropped a rear wheel into a crack and rolled. If he would have been watching from behind instead of sucking down a brewskie this probably could have been avoided.

Darwinism is a good way to describe what happened. I hate to see people get hurt but, these guys brought it on themselves. Frank makes a very good point in that, the whole off-road community suffers from the stupid acts of the few. I hope anybody that off-roads takes notes on this incident. Be careful, use your head. Drinking and driving can be as dangerous on road as off. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.

Howdy All,
Thanx Brent for your input to this incident. One other thing that was mentioned was that none of the people in the rolled vehicle had their seatbelts on The driver ended up wedged under the dash he had minor injuries. One passenger had a severly broken arm.The other passenger had a severe injury to the pelvis. Both passengers were taken to a hospital. They were in stable condition. The person that was the second person to get to the truck said he thought eveeryone was dead because of all the blood all over the place. Well at least these people will live and be able to put this lesson to good use.
