ML350 Engine Mounts 06 W164

Members:

The mounts on my ML are in need of replacement. After surveying the accessibility of the mounts, I can not figure out how to get to them. Looking for tips on line has not been helpful. I can find very little on line concerning the W164.

I've performed at least a half a dozen mount replacements on other Benz models (124, 201, 210, 211 ....inline 6, v6 and v8 configs)....so I am up for the challenge. ...or at least I think I am.... In all those successful cases, I was able to figure out an approach. The W164' the the 4-matic and steering rack in the way of the drivers side mount, I am stumped.

Your advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated

You need a short 16mm dogbone wrench with a 3/8 universal to access top bolt , remove both bottom bolts (4), and with engine supported from below push engine to left or right while removing mounts

Thanks for the tip

Nulu.. Thanks for the tip. do I still need to remove the exhaust pipe from the manifold on the drivers side to have room to extract the mount once disconnected?
